Weekly Services

Below are descriptions of the three weekly services we currently offer at Silver Valley Assembly of God. If you have questions about one of the services that are not answered here please feel free to contact us.

Sunday School

9:30 AM on Sunday Mornings

On Sunday mornings we offer three Sunday School classes for various ages. For children in preschool to 5th grade and for students in 6th to 12th grade Sunday School begins with breakfast. Breakfast is normally eggs, sausage, pancakes, and fruit but may at times include other items. (Please let us know if there are food allergies or restrictions and we will do our best to provide alternatives.) Children will watch a Christian video after eating breakfast. Students in 6th to 12th grade attend a youth Sunday School class while they eat. Adults meet in the sanctuary for their class, which is currently taught by Pastor Larry. If you enjoy expository teaching this time period is for you. At the adult Sunday School class we dive into the Word of God, section by section, and study its intricacies. Sunday School ends at 10:30.

Childcare is not available at this time for children age 2 and under during Sunday School.

Midweek Service

7:00 PM on Wednesday Nights

Wednesday night we serve a free meal at 6:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to come and eat, no one is expected to stay for the service which follows the free meal. Free meal is held downstairs in the basement area.

At the 7:00 PM service we have a classes for everyone from preschool age to adults.

We have a Bible study for people 18 and up and/or no longer attending high school. This is held in Pastor Larry Harpel's office located on the 2nd story of the building, and is taught by Pastor Larry.

Students in 6th to 12th grade can attend the youth service at 7:00 PM held in the sanctuary taught by Pastor Matt Turner. Youth service includes a message taught by Pastor Matt or one of the other leaders, fun games, small group discussion times, and more.

Kids in Kindergarten to 5th grade can attend Children's Church downstairs in the basement area. At Children's Church they will be taught a lesson in character development based on Biblical teachings. Following the lesson is an activity that reinforces the lesson like a craft, a game, or a video.

We have a Preschool class for children ages 3 to 5 a couple weeks every month. When the Preschool class is available kids ages 3 to 5 have a lesson with games and activities in the Preschool classroom located off the main room in the basement. When there is no preschool available kids ages 3 to 5 may be able to join the K to 5th grade kids at the teacher's discretion.

Unfortunately, childcare for babies and toddlers age 2 and under are not available right now at our Wednesday service.

The children's service ends at around 8:00 PM so children who walk home are not out too late. Children who are being picked up by adults or older siblings attending youth group or Bible study can remain in the children's church area until the service is over and people are able to pick them up. The youth service and adult Bible study usually finish around 8:15 to 8:30 PM.

Main Service

10:45 AM on Sunday Mornings

Our 10:45 service is a more general service, we have tried to design it to be all things to all people. We begin with a time of praise and worship, which is a blending of modern and traditional songs and hymns. After praise and worship is over we take an offering, make announcements, and then enjoy a relevant message for today.

During this service we offer Children's Church for kids in Kindergarten to 5th grade, a class for Preschoolers ages 3 to 5, and childcare for babies and toddlers age 2 and under. Power Hour Children's Church is a great time for kids with fun games and activities, Bible stories with life application, a kid friendly song service where kids are taught and encouraged to begin learning to worship, and more. Preschool is designed for the younger children, so each activity is sanwiched in between free time periods. Preschoolers will hear a Bible story, make a craft, play games and do activities that reinforce the Bible story, and join the older children for the song service.

Both Children's Church and Preschool have a snack time during the service and snacks are also provided for toddlers in the nursery. Please let us know if your child has food allergies or is on a restricted diet and we will do our best to accommodate.

There is no set end time for this service, but we generally finish around 12:15 to 12:30.
